Chieow Laan Lake (part of Khao Sok National Park) is 28 km long and spans the entire length of the park. The edge of the reservoir provides one of the best places to spot wild animals such as hornbills, gibbons, barking deer, wild elephant and boar.
Staying at one of the floating raft houses on Chieow Laan Lake will be an experience you'll fondly remember and talk about for years.
Enjoy jungle trekking, canoeing and optional cave exploration in one of the most pristine and stunning rainforest and freshwater lake locations in the world.

The 'Overnight Oasis' is a two day, one night tour.

Day 1: Leaving early - mid morning, you will travel by long tail boat to your overnight accommodation - your very own floating raft house.

Take a quick dip in the emerald green waters of Chieow Laan Lake before enjoying a scrumptious Thai lunch. Then it's off for a guided jungle walk through the rainforest. Or maybe you'd prefer to just sit & soak up the atmosphere from the balcony of your floating raft house. In the evening you'll enjoy a selection of southern Thai specialty foods with just the stars & the sounds of nature as your backdrop.

Day 2: The next morning board your long tail boat or paddle a canoe in search of wildlife, before returning to the raft houses for a delicious breakfast. You'll then enjoy a guided canoe trip before having time to relax or do some more sightseeing before lunch, a final swim and a sad goodbye to your temporary oasis. You will return to your starting point by mid-afternoon.

Our Khao Sok tours go into Khao Sok National Park and Chieow Laan Lake, giving our clients a chance to view first hand an ancient rainforest and some of the flora and fauna present within it.

We do not offer large group travel. This provides for more intimate and direct interaction between the traveler and the local guides and people in the communities we visit and avoids ‘over-running' the destinations we visit.

The accommodation we choose for our guests employ local people and our organisation utilises the services of operators who source their food and other equipment from local businesses.

Our English speaking guides are fully licensed and are from the local area; many having been born and raised in Khao Sok and Chieow Laan Lake.,

Our pre-trip document given to travelers outlines ways to reduce the negative impact on the environment, including reducing water usage and minimising damage to flora and fauna. Travelers have the opportunity to meet the park rangers who take care of the area and our guides inform travelers about the impact of poaching of wildlife and flora within the park, and how the park rangers attempt to minimise this type of activity.
