Dogsled Adventure in Jämtland

Overview

An extended dogsled experience in the remote mountains of Vålådalen Nature Reserve in north-western Sweden. Dogsled Adventure in Jämtland is a 7-day experience with 5 days' dog sledding. Each participant drives their own sled with 4-5 Alaskan Huskies. Accommodation is in a mountain station before and after the tour and in mountain cabins along the route. You will be responsible for harnessing and managing your own dogsled team, and everyone assists in taking care of the dogs and building shelters for them each night to protect them from the wind.

Additional information

At the beginning of your tour you will receive full instructions in harnessing your team and driving your sled. Each day, as you travel from cabin to cabin, you will become more confident in handling the dogs and controlling the sled, and by the end of the tour you should feel very proud of the progress you have made as a musher! The route also includes the opportunity to take a day-tour from one of the cabins, an exhilarating experience allowing you and the dogs to run fast and light in the mountain wilderness.
